Hi, I’m Carla — a mother of two and a dedicated advocate for public schools. I understand the diverse needs of families in our district and am committed to creating a supportive, high-quality learning environment for every student. I’m ready to serve our community as a Papillion La Vista School Board candidate.

Together, we can build a bright future for all of our children.

Why I’m Running

I am running for a seat on the school board because I believe a quality education is the most important foundation for our children’s personal success, our community’s success, and our state's success.

What I Believe

Empowering Parents

Parents deserve clear insight into what their children are learning. I support tools such as opportunities for families to give feedback before major program changes and consistent communication so parents can stay involved and informed.

Enabling Teachers

Teachers succeed when they’re supported. I will advocate for updated classroom resources and professional development that helps educators meet the needs of today’s students—without adding unnecessary burdens to their workload.

Embracing Technology

Students need to be prepared for a rapidly changing world. I believe in expanding access to digital learning tools and investing in secure and reliable classroom technology.

Ensuring Efficient Spending

Taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability. I support making financial records easier for community members to review, clearly sharing major budget decisions, and prioritizing student learning and school safety.

Fostering a Culture of Greatness

Every student should feel supported and challenged in our community schools. I will champion efforts that strengthen school culture, expand programs that encourage students' well-being and academic performance, and foster partnerships between families, educators, and the community so all students can reach their full potential.

Experience

My personal experience as a parent, community advocate, and working mother has prepared me for this role.

  • I hold a BA in human resources and family science from the University of Nebraska and volunteer in various capacities in our public schools.

  • As a community advocate, I fundraise for organizations that improve access to healthcare and educational programs in our region.

  • As a mom and community member, I appreciate how public education prepared me for life, and I want the same experience for my children.

Meet Carla

I’ve been an active member of the Papillion La Vista community for the past 16 years.

My children have attended Papillion La Vista schools for 12 years. They are both avid golfers like their parents.

I’m passionate about fundraising for our schools and currently serve on the band booster board.

I pledge to approach every issue with thoughtfulness and prioritize the needs of our schools and community.”
